As a Shift Leader, you will assist the General Manager and Assistant GeneralManager by leading and coaching the team in at least one of the core areas of the restaurant (e.g., service, kitchen, online ordering). You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations during your shift, including leading a team and managing the kitchen, customer experience, and online orders. You will be responsible for modeling and acting by Lemon & Thyme's mission and core values.

You will ensure the delivery of quality products (e.g., salads, bowls, beverages)that meet and exceed customers’ expectations by regularly tasting food, providing feedback and taking immediate action when food quality does not meet expectations. Ensures company guidelines consistently follow all food safety practices.

Shift Leader responsibilities include (But are not limited to):

  • Communicates opportunities and other information to store leadership
  • Shares store goals and focus during employee shifts
  • Executes store operations and operational tools during scheduled shifts
  • Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensures facilities, store technology, and systems are running correctly and takes immediate action to resolve when necessary.
  • Runs shifts in the absence of GM or AGM
  • Anticipates customer and restaurant needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues
  • Ensures a clean and presentable lobby,front line, restrooms, and outside seating (if applicable)
  • Ensures the delivery of safe, healthy, and presentable food for our customers

Our teams make real food from scratch — you’ll oversee a full-service Back of House operation and perform specific weekly reporting duties. The kitchen manager is the anchor of the BOH — you’re an enthusiastic leader, a quick thinker, a problem-solver, a skilled communicator, and a motivator.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in restaurant management
  • Experience in fast casual restaurant chains (preferred)
  • Managed and developed 25+ team members per shift
  • P&L, COGS, Developing Budgets, Financial Planning and Strategy, Decision Making, Process Improvement, Strategic Planning, Labor/Scheduling, Training & Team Development, Quality Focus
  • Experience in Food Safety + Planning
  • Regional Manager’s Food Safety Certification required (ServSafe Manager’s Certification)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities
  • Must possess good communication skills for managing a diverse staff
  • Must be coachable and actively looking for feedback to grow and improve
  • Must be customer service-oriented and have passion for the guest experience
  • Must be high-energy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment

You take pride in ensuring that we’re serving our guests products that live up to the quality and food safety standards we pride ourselves on. You will report to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.

Kitchen Staff responsibilities include (But are not limited to):

  • Ensure all food meets food safety andquality standards to eliminate cross-contamination on the front line
  • Prep all cold and hot food items using prep worksheets
  • Follow proper knife safety procedures
  • Operate oven and hot prep equipment, ensure right time/temp of all hot and cooked foods
  • Operate fit-wash, robot coupe, and all other cold prep equipment
  • Maintain clean, food-safe dish and prep stations throughout shift
  • Set up and break down oven station, maintain clean and organized hot prep zone and equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized dish and sink area, restock clean dishes and equipment, and take out trash at intervals throughout the day.
  • Clean dishes, tongs, trays, and equipment throughout the shift
  • Manage communication between ServiceTeam Members and Kitchen, inventory front line, prep zones, oven, and walk-into determine needs. Ensure areas are always stocked.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of our changing salad menu + ingredients
  • Put received orders away

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be comfortable working with knives and other culinary equipment
  • Must understand and execute food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Standing, stooping, kneeling, walking, wiping, reaching, bending, and lifting are required actions throughout a shift
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities during the shift
  • Must be able to perform duties that require standing for long periods and fast movement
  • Ability to lift 20-40lbs
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required!

Salad Maker responsibilities include (But are not limited to):

  • Assembling and preparing salads and bowls according to standards
  • Interacting with our customers to ensure every salad and bowl is made with personalized attention
  • Working with a mezzaluna (dual-handled blade in the shape of a half-moon) to chop salads according to customer liking
  • Learning recipe builds, dressing flavor profiles, and salad pairings to make appropriate customer recommendations.
  • Adhering to all steps of service so that our customer’s needs are met with each transaction
  • Keeping a clean and safe work environment adhering to all safety and sanitation standards
  • Recognizing regulars and making suggestions to provide exceptional customer service experiences (this is SUPER IMPORTANT!)
  • Ensure your station is stocked, clean, and always organized, communicating with the back-of-house teammates.
  • Committing to educating yourself on new creations as they are introduced to expand your food knowledge

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ringing up customers' orders
  • Utilizing proper cash handling procedures
  • Maintaining a stocked, clean, and organized station
  • Demonstrating a complete knowledge of the menu
  • Adapting to the flow of business with a sense of urgency
  • Answering phone calls in a professional manner
  • Monitoring pick-up and delivery orders
  • Communicating with customers regarding promotions, loyalty programs, and new menu
